Terms of Service

1. Who we are, and what you're agreeing to

Hushwork ("Hushwork", "we", "us") is a software service operated by an independent developer. By installing the Hushwork app, creating an account, or using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of the business that owns the connected Shopify store, and you confirm you are authorized to act for that business.

2. The service

Hushwork discovers keyword opportunities for your store, generates SEO content, publishes it on your storefront's own domain through the Shopify App Proxy, and then keeps working: hosting, monitoring, refreshing, and attributing orders to the pages it maintains. Hushwork is a subscription service, not a content agency — generation, hosting, and upkeep are delivered together as one ongoing service.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and use the service only for a store you control. The service is offered to businesses; it is not directed at consumers or children.

4. Your store data

Your catalog, product data, orders, brand assets, and store content are yours and remain yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to access and process them solely to provide the service — for example, to learn your niche, generate content, extract your storefront theme, and attribute orders. That license ends when your data is erased after uninstall, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Generated content and hosted pages

The content Hushwork researches, writes, hosts, and maintains for your store is part of the service, like the engine that produces it. While your subscription or trial is active, you have a non-exclusive license to display, edit, and use Hushwork-generated content on your storefront, and every page remains under your control — you can edit, unpublish, or delete any page at any time, and every version is kept so your edits are never lost.

When your subscription ends, that license ends with it. We may take hosted pages offline — any removed page returns a proper 410 status code so search engines drop it cleanly, with no lingering SEO penalty — and we are not obligated to provide copies or exports of generated content or of data derived from operating the service. Resubscribing while your store's data is still retained restores your feed and your license. None of this touches what is yours under section 4: your catalog, orders, brand assets, and the edits you contributed remain your property at all times.

6. Fees, billing, and refunds

Paid plans are billed monthly through Shopify Billing on your existing Shopify invoice. Plan changes take effect through Shopify's billing system. We may change prices with advance notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle, never retroactively. Charges already incurred are not refunded except where required by law.

7. Free trial

New stores get a 14-day free trial with a 10-page live feed, no payment method required. When a trial ends without an upgrade, content generation pauses; trial pages may remain live for a period at our discretion and may later be taken offline cleanly, with proper 410 status codes. Upgrading resumes the service where it left off.

8. Cancellation, uninstalling, and termination

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the dashboard or your Shopify admin. Cancelling ends the subscription and, with it, the content license described in section 5 — while your store stays connected, your data is retained and resubscribing restores your feed.

Uninstalling the app is different from cancelling: it disconnects the App Proxy (so hosted pages stop being served), revokes our access tokens, and triggers the data-erasure process described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate the service for a material breach of these terms or of Shopify's policies, giving notice where practicable.

9. Acceptable use

You may not use Hushwork to publish unlawful, deceptive, or infringing content; to target keywords in regulated categories prohibited by Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy; or to interfere with, probe, or disrupt the service or other merchants' stores.

10. Reviewing published content

Hushwork's content is machine-generated and designed to be reviewed: you decide what goes live, and every page is editable. Like all AI-generated text, it can contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing the pages published for your store and for their compliance with the laws applicable to your business, including claims made about your own products.

11. No guarantees of ranking

Search engines and AI assistants rank and cite content at their sole discretion. Hushwork applies current best practices but does not and cannot guarantee specific rankings, traffic, citations, or revenue.

12. Third-party services

The service depends on third parties we do not control — Shopify (the platform, App Proxy, and billing), large-language-model providers, and search engines. Their outages, API changes, or policy changes can affect the service, and their own terms govern their products. We are not responsible for third-party services.

13. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hushwork will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for all claims arising out of the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Indemnification

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your store's products, your use of published content, or your breach of these terms.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will post changes on this page and, for material changes, notify you through the dashboard or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hushwork's operator resides, except where the mandatory law of your own location applies. If a dispute arises, contact us first — most issues can be resolved informally.
